Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World)
and
Camp GROW (Guys Reshaping Our World)
are two overnight camps that I am helping to direct during 2013 and 2014 in the Kingdom of Tonga.
The camps focus on positive and healthy decision making, the empowerment and respect of women and leadership skill development. The campers are chosen from throughout the Vava'u Island Group (in Tonga) and are given an opportunity to meet students from other communities while they navigate their way through the camp and various sessions designed to help them create short-term and long-term goals in the areas of school, health, community and family. The ultimate goal is to create a community where women can thrive, strive, grow and are given the same opportunities and respect as men.
Camp GLOW/GROW 2013 was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make it a reality.
